IDF and YEDRA have the pleasure to invite you for a press conference "Chances and Challenges for youngsters in Europe". This conference will take place on Friday 30th of November 2007 in The Hague. Arrival and registration at 14:00 hrs. The press conference starts at 15:00 hrs. and from 17:00 hrs. till 18:00 hrs. high tea and networking.

The foundation YEDRA gives effective training to young people in the Netherlands with regard to; human rights education, how to gain influence on social developments, self-development, particularly with regard to youth leadership and intercultural dialogue. This way the youth is extending their knowledge, as well as their skills, which are essential in order to actively participate in society. YEDRA wants to provide young people with the tools they require to be the change they want to see in the world.

During the press conference on 30th November the findings of the seminar "Chances and Challenges for youngsters in Europe", organized by YEDRA and IDF (International Dialogues Foundation), will be announced and handed over in a report to policy makers. The European youth participating the seminar will discuss three major subjects: Leadership, Youth Challenges in Europe Youth Realities en Dialogue and Participation.

The press conference will eventually bring European youth and youth leaders in contact with European policy makers and will give the opportunity to discuss youth affairs. That is why YEDRA is working together with VNG (Association of Netherlands Municipalities) to achieve this goal. The participants will also join the conference "Equal opportunities for all" during the seminar held on 28 and 29th of November, where the plenary session will be chaired by Wim Deetman (Mayor The Hague). With the cooperation between the youth and policy makers, YEDRA, IDF and VNG want to achieve that society and public institutions will listen more carefully to the opinions, wishes and criticism of the youth. All young people should have the opportunity to voice their concerns as well as their innovative ideas and to participate in the making of policies that affect their lives. In short, we want to work towards the establishment of a dialogue between policy makers and the youth.
